Warm Up Fully Before Stretching PDF Print E-mail

What?

Raising the temperature of the tendon increases the amount of permanent length change when you stretch.

That's why it is important to warm up fully before stretching.

In addition, stretching after a workout when your muscles are warm can help you to gain flexibility over a period of time.

Try jogging in place or jumping rope for a few seconds to warm up a bit just before stretching for your workout.

Be sure to do sport-specific stretches. These are stretches that target the muscles and movements that you will be doing during your workout.
