Lactose Free Hot Cocoa Mix PDF Print E-mail

I'm lactose intolerant and it's always a challenge to find a hot cocoa mix that is free of milk products. So I decided to make my own.

Lactose Free Hot Cocoa Mix

Sift together the following:
1 cup baking cocoa
1 cup powdered sugar

or for a richer flavor

1 cup baking cocoa
1/2 cup powdered sugar
and stir in 1/2 cup brown sugar

Store mix in an air tight container with a lid. To use, measure 2 Tablespoons of mix into a mug of your favorite lactose free milk. Stir, reheat to desired temperature and enjoy.

Note: Be sure to use a sifter to combine the mix or you'll end up with bitter cocoa lumps no matter how much you stir.

 

 
Orange Peach Smoothie PDF Print E-mail
6 oz orange juice
1 large fresh peach cut into slices (may use 1/2–3/4 cup frozen peaches)
1/3 cup frozen banana slices (or fresh banana if desired)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt


Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until combined. Pour into 2 glasses. Serve immediately.

 

 
Orange Blueberry Smoothie PDF Print E-mail
6 oz orange juice
1/4 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
1/3 cup frozen banana slices (can use fresh if desired)
2 tablespoons plain yogurt


Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until combined. Divide between 2 glasses. Serve immediately.
